plugin and theme not in admin panel

  • i am new to wordpress and can’t get the subscribe2 plugin
and a customized theme to show up in the admin panel. both are
in the correct folders under listed under /wp-content.

i’ve been looking at one of the threads for help and i think my theme problem lies somewhere within the path. it says the path should look like this – /wp-content/themes/theme_name/style.css , but i’m missing the /style.css.

i hope i’m making some sense. i’m a novice when it comes to this stuff.

    thanks for your assistance.

If the theme is missing a style.css file, then it is either not a WordPress theme (which, of course, won’t work), or it is a WordPress v1.2.x template (which also won’t work), or it’s missing its style.css file (which, again, won’t work). Please make sure that you are attempting to use a WordPress v1.5.x theme and that you didn’t misplace the style.css file.

As for the plugin, please make sure that subscribe2.php is in /wp-content/plugins/ and that subscribe.php is in the root of your WordPress installation.
