[Plugin: ALO EasyMail Newsletter] Unsubscription

    Newsletter subscription (via a page using the [ALO-EASYMAIL-PAGE] shortcode) works fine but how do users un-subscribe?

    I did a test subscription (not as registerd user) in a fresh browser but unlike a logged in user, I see no option unsubscribe… It might be a wise idea to create the possibility to add a ‘unsubscribe’ link (as oposite of the confirmation link; which is actually required by law in most countries) in the newsletter templates. Or is that already possible?

    Now you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of each newsletter. In future I’ll add an option into the newsletter subscription page.

    Oh? I am not seeing any unsubscribe link… Some option I have missed and need to activate for that?

    It’s strange, the unsubscribe link is automatically added in every newsletter…

    Ah, I found the code taking care of that… and I suppose that as a registered user I did not get that link appended.

    Would it be a good idea for registered user to get an alternative link directing them to the option on their user admin page?

    If you choose to send to registered users, they will receive the e-mail because they are registered users and not subscribers, so they cannot unsubscribe. A registered user can be a subscriber too and can delete the subscription, but not the fact of being registered user. I hope you have understood me (sorry for my bad english).

    Sure, I understand what you are saying.

    I just meant that it might be a good idea to include a link at the bottom for registered users that points to their user page where they can switch off their subscription. I did not mean de-registering, which is indeed not possible in WP…

    Anyway, thanks for explaining. I marked my question as ‘solved’ 🙂

    purtroppo anch’io non vedo alcun unsubscribe link nelle email spedite ai sottoscrittori… come posso fare per creare una pagina dove sia contenuto questo link per disattivare l’iscrizione?

    To add unsubscribe link you have to add [USER-UNSUBSCRIBE] or [USER-UNSUBSCRIBE-URL] in your newsletter.
