  • Yes, same sort of conclusions here. This one looks promising though: wysija-newsletters , after having looked at several others so far.

just want to confirm that wysija was working very nicely right out the box 😉 … I’m going to highly recommend taking a look at it for an well formatted newsletter plugin.

Can you elaborate on the bugs you say exist?

The wysija doesn’t allow you to send a newsletter as a post, it seems to have a nasty bug(at least foe me) when you try to import a post into the newsletter editor

yes your right quantum_leap, I can’t do any drag and drop in the Admin with wysija.

My main problem with ‘ALO EasyMail Newsletter’ was that the sign-up/subscriber widget box was not working correctly (I would submit the info and nothing would happen, or I’d get an error…

So I’m going to look back into ALO, to try to see what IS workable now, and if I can work around any smaller bugs.

    Hi everyone,
I came to this post randomly and I have seen some stuff about wysija. 🙂
I’m one of the developer behind that plugin so I just wanted to let you know that the nasty bug you’re talking about is now fixed.
You just need to reinstall 1.0 with the latest zip from wordpress’ repo.

If one wants to steer clear of aWeber or MailChimp, this WP based Newsletter/Autoresponder sector is a bit of a minefield.

Tested ALO 2.1 for a client previously and it didn’t meet their modest needs; the newsletter plugin on WPMU DEV looks promising but after free registration you find that “from $17” seems to be $39/month jeez guys . . . Just tried WYSIJA now and upon activation it breaks WP 3.21 – which is a bit rare these days – a ‘cannot allocate’ error associated with /pomo/mo.php

    Back to MailChimp, eh?

    Thanks for the followup Ben,

Yes, made it work – however client needed more functionality.
So they shelled out $50 or so for the Tribulant product – very complex product and is locked to website 🙁 🙁 but has superb email templates . .
