 * After upgrading to WordPress 3.0.1 from WordPress 2.9.2, I began receiving server
500 errors whenever I tried to edit/create posts and pages. After working through
my list of plugins (disabling all and reactivating 1 by 1) I determined the issue
was with the All in One SEO Pack.
 * I was running an old version, so I upgraded the plugin via FTP and, unfortunately,
   I’m still having the issue.
 * This might be a consequence of running PHP4 on the server rather than PHP5, but
the plugin doesn’t state that as a requirement … so I’m not sure what the issue
   is.

 * Hi Eric,
 * AIOSEOP does not require PHP5, though I still recommend upgrading.
    There are
no other reports of AIOSEOP causing server 500 errors, so offhand I would say
that there is a conflict with another plugin or theme producing this.
 * What theme are you using and what are your other active plugins?

 * My guess is that this could be an isolated incident with this particular server
because I haven’t run into this problem anywhere else. For reference, I tested
everything on a stock installation of TwentyTen and disabled all plug-ins _but_
AIOSEOP after I identified it as the one that was breaking … the server 500 errors
   remained.

 * I would say you’re correct, that there’s a server issue somewhere. What hosting
   are you using?

 * This particular site is on a shared host at 1and1. But I think the client has
added some additional server tools (the tools are incompatible with PHP5 and
the sole reason I can’t upgrade the server) … I’m thinking those might be the
culprits. Let me check on which tools/extensions they are and get back to you.
