I wanted to customise my links on facebook so started using the wp facebook open graph protocol plugin and was really happy – until i noticed that when I post a link to my blog that it pulled the same title, description and image as the homepage. I thought that this was an issue with the ogp plugin until I checked the All in one seo pack settings – it seems that where I enter the title and description etc for the home page it applies it to both the home page and blog page. if I enter nothing in it, search engines and facebook will just pull the description from the first lines on the page as normal without a meta description.
So the problem is this, if I post a link to
http://fairydoula.co.uk/blog on facebook (and I’m assuming will be the same for the search engines which is more of a problem), it only shows the title, image, description and keywords for the home page, http://fairydoula.co.uk .
Why is it necessary to have this home title, home description and home keywords section, which overrides changes I make on the actual pages (in fact it makes those changes defunct) , when I have entered titles and descriptions already in the all in one seo pack section on the Home page and on the Blog page?
I’m sure others must have had this issue, many websites don’t have their blog home as their homepage?
Also – feature request – *wishes for a page where one could edit all the pages / posts SEO stuff on one page rather than having to open them up and edit them individually* 🙂
