[Plugin: All in One SEO Pack] AIOSEO Pack Duplicate Meta Descriptions On Pages

    Hello,

    Google is telling me that I have duplicate meta descriptions on category pages using All In One Seo Pack. In Webmaster Tools it looks like

    /blog/category/MainCategory/
    /blog/category/MainCategory/page/2/
    /blog/category/MainCategory/page/3/

    Aioseo is using meta descriptions from the main category and also using the same description on pages which is giving me duplicate content. Can anyone please tell me how I can fix this? I would like either no meta descriptions on pages from categories, or custom ones like adding page number at the end, but have no clue on how to achieve this.

    I appreciate any time, and help you can provide.

    One thing I would like to add . As much as I like the All in one SEO the support sucks. I found some related answer in the forums but the answer is only available to Pro members. See this link I am sure the answer lies within if you have the pro.

    I am seriously considering moving over to Yoast where I think the support is much better because most o the people who run it are more technically savvy and of course Joost himself has a personal interest and keps it almost open source in the plugin which I have seen from many forums.

    Why does paid support “suck”? Do you not feel that plugin developers should be compensated for their time?
    BTW, I and my paid staff are active on the forums here as well for free.

    What theme are you using? What is the URL of your website?

    I’d add the following line to your to your robots.txt file:
    Disallow: */page/*

    This will cause it not to index anything that has /page/ in the URL and just index the main Category (or Tag) page.

    All in One SEO Pack also has an exclude pages option that basically does the same thing re: metadata.

    Authors, thanks so much for this amazing plug in.

    topwebz, from a newbie to other one, go to all in one seo tools and look for the “exclude pages option”.
    There write category. just category. Save!

    Alla category pages will not use all in one seo.

    I did it because my url were like yours: /blog/category/MainCategory/
    /blog/category/MainCategory/page/2/
    /blog/category/MainCategory/page/3/
