• After entering about 30 programs for our local radio station I encountered a weird bug in which a newly submitted event ended up in my server spitting out the post.php file in plain-text rather than parsing it through the PHP server.

After disabling some plugins I addd in between (not solving anything) I found that I could still edit older events. When trying to change an existing event into the one I could not enter, the error came back again.

Took me a while to figure out why this weird bug is occuring only when entering an event that starts at 0:00. For troubleshooting sake I’ll sum up the exact event that causes the weird bug:

    – Title
    – No tekst in the “body”
    – One (out of four) categories
    – Starting on March 12, 2012 @ 00:00
    – Ending on March 12, 2012 @ 16:00
    – Repeat every week on a monday
    – No comments, trackbacks or anything else

  • I believe this is actually related to the “every week on a Monday” rule being combined with the event being on a Monday.
This appears to be an issue with the underlying iCal class we are using, which will take some time to research.
For now as a workaround I would suggest creating the event for Sunday set to repeat every Monday – then block the Sunday using the ‘exclude dates’ function
