[Plugin: All-in-One Event Calendar] Suggestion: allow me to create my own event type or page

Hi,

I’d like to make a suggestion: provide a configuration option to link to an existing page or post rather than creating (or displaying) an event based on ailec’s built-in event content type.

In other words, when someone clicks on an event in the calendar and the events widget, I’d like the link to go to the page or post (or custom content type) that I’ve created.

Although I haven’t tested this yet, I suspect I could create this functionality with 301 redirects, but the site’s users will never be able to implement something like that without my intervention.

Ideally, I’m thinking I could use ai1ec’s upcoming support for shortcodes to create an event that integrates with the the calendar system.

Does this make any sense?
