All-in-One Event Calendar
[resolved] Show all event posts for one category on page (6 posts)

I would really appreciate finding a solution to this.

I can view all my events truncated on one page (this is great) with http://www.mywebstitename.com/ai1ec_event/ in the address bar.

NOW I would like to only display all the events from one category on
    a page.

I'm working with a programmer and neither of us can find a solution to this puzzle.

    Thank you!

Did you try adding parameter ?ai1ec_cat_ids=XX to your calendar address?
If you want more than one category, add them separated by a comma like =XX,YY,ZZ,... .

This still seems to be limited by the maximum events per page field in calendar settings.

The category ID you can get from the value of parameter tag_ID when editing a event category.

You should be able to filter by category using a shortcode such as:

    [ai1ec cat_name="halloween"]

You can also change the view in shortcodes, including using filtering by category in the agenda view, for example. For other shortcodes, see here:

So here is the solution we came up with:
This displays the events on a page-not a calendar. The only challenge now is how to get the events to list in the order of the start date and NOT the date they were posted.

Alternate: I updated to the new version and really like the posterboard view. The posterboard can replace my current method IF it would show ALL event posts in the category, instead, it only shows the posts in the category for the current week. How can I change it to show ALL events in a named category? This is a test of this method.

Currently postboard setting is set to display 30 posts.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you :-)

So here is how I solved my challenge. I set the Posterboard pages to show at most 500 events.

The page loads all events first, then changes to just the called upon category. It's not smooth, but the desired result is acquired.

    Hi kaczg,

Thank you for sharing this solution with other users of the ai1ec.
