    Hi,

I really like the All-in-One Event Calendar plugin, but with my blog I have a little issue with the default view in the widget.
My editors are adding quite a lot of exhibition events that are running for a couple of weeks or even months. Since I have to limit the number of events displayed in the widget to 5 for design reasons, very quickly daily events are pushed out of the widget because the long time events.
So, is there a way to filter the widget not to display either

    • events that are longer than one day or
    • events from a specific category

The latter way would also work. I would then just put all longer events to the category that is excluded from the widget view.

Any way to do this? Or is this a feature request for an upcoming version? 🙂

Many thanks and happy new years!

  • I think that many people are eagerly awaiting shortcodes.

It is though, currently possible to select which categories should be displayed in the widget so you would have to use a slightly different approach and have a new event category ‘widget’ and add the 5 events you want to display to it.

Events can belong to more than one event category without being duplicated on the calendar. The only downside is that ‘widget’ will show in the category dropdown.

Note: Widgets events category selection does not display correctly in IE9 so you need to use a different browser.

I am happy to announce that as of today we are going to make a new release every 2 weeks. I am working on a page where you will be able to track the current progress and what will be included in the next release. We are also going to make two additional releases – alpha and beta that will allow you to take a look at the current development and test the next release before it is out.

Shortcodes support has always been on our list and it will be added to the plugin.

There is a way to limit events in the widget by category and/or tag.
If I were you, I would create a new category called Widget Events and add all events that I want to show to the widget. Then, just go to the widget and configure it to show only the events from Widget Events category.

If I choose to display only one category in the widgets, the other categorys are not shown in the main calendar ether, not untill I click on the remove category filter. I have Agenda as default. Can I fix this in som way?

This applies only if you go to the main calendar via the button on the widget. if one goes through the main menu then it works well, and you will not see filtering on the main calendar.
I would like to thank you for an extremely god work on this kalendar by the way.

You will have to edit the widget, there isn’t another way.

The swedish translation is located in:
    all-in-one-event-calendar-sv_SE.mo
    all-in-one-event-calendar-sv_SE.po

Edit the all-in-one-event-calendar-sv_SE.po with POEDIT. When you save the file, it will generate a new all-in-one-event-calendar-sv_SE.mo file.
