[Plugin: All-in-One Event Calendar] Clone a calendar event

  • Spookily I’ve just come across the same problem. One of my authors has just changed the date of a past event, to a future date. Ideally I’d like to keep both event listed for future reference.

A way to Copy an existing event, thus giving it a new post ID would be very useful.

We offer workshops on a monthly and annual basis, but the instructors and locations tend to change. I like to think that we’ll be using ai1ec for a good long time, so it would be terrific if a workshop in 2011 could then be cloned for 2012, and for both to exist in the calendar as unique events.

Is there a method to clone an event so that I can change just a few details an make a new event?

We are deciding on the best approach for this and once the decision is made, we will include it.

    +1, absolutely useful!

And I see that it is much more complicated as it seems at first glimpse. It needs to change basic WP-routines for posting (new) articles.

So it might make sense putting the requested feature in a seperate plugin like “Save As New” for every kind of existing articles (posts) and pages …

And actually I just registered to thank theseednetwork.com for sharing the best calendar plugin available!
