[Plugin: Ajax Event Calendar] adding, editing events not working

  • After updating to WordPress version 3.6 the Ajax Event Calendar version 1.04 does not allow updating or editing events.
    I noticed this one one installation. Everything looks normal but when clicking on a data (in dashboard) the dialog does not come up.

    I checked my test site that had not been updated to the latest version of WordPress and AEC worked normally. I updated and on the calendar page it is no longer possible to add an event or to edit an existing event.

  • I’m seeing the same thing.

    I am having the same issue… using IE or Firefox.

    I’m having the same problem since update to WP 3.6. Using Microsoft Server 2003, IIS 6.

    Webpage error details:

    The same here.. can we get a response please?

    The author of AEC has not responded here nor to the issue tracker. His last Twitter post was in January 2013. The plug-in shows that it was updated 13 Aug 2013.

    This is getting to be a serious situation for me, my clients want to update their calendars. Do I have to switch to another plug-in? Any recommendations?

    Still no response from author? I need to add events. What calendar plugin did others switch to?

    @kschmitz

    It works for me in Firefox, Chrome and IE9 (once I switched it to compatibility view)

    Hmm, there seems to be an incompatibility between the SimpleModal jQuery plugin used in AEC and the WordPress build-in jQuery file in (/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js). If you load jQuery from Google, you can edit/view your events (see http://www.ericmmartin.com/5-tips-for-using-jquery-with-wordpress/). However, there also appears to be a CSS (?) problem with the month/year date picker in Internet Explorer.

    Same issue here. Firefox console reports:

    TypeError: jQuery._timePicker is not a constructor

    Sure hope the dev is hard at work fixing this!

    Yea hope so too …… I may have to go to my backup calendar because I need to get schedules posted!!!!

    Also this issue is the same for me across all browsers (IE9, Firefox, Google Chrome)

    I’m new to this and have been having the same problem. I thought it was me, not a compatibility issue. If I deactivate Ajax, what do you recommend in its place? I’m using theme twentytwelve and have NextGen Gallery installed.

    @ludwigkeck

    After two weeks there has been no response from the Ajax calendar authors. In some other threads disabling NextGen Gallery has been mentioned as a fix. I don’t have that installed, so there is no fix for my situation.

    I am testing “All-in-One Event Calendar by Timely” using the free version. It seems to work and hold promise to do what I need. I will have to sell this change to my clients – all their events would need to be edited and moved over – major work!

    Thanks for your post…would you let me know if you experience success with Timely’s Calendar?

    ludwigkeck

    @ludwigkeck

    Well, the Timely calendar looks nice – integrates nicely on the dashboard. I have not yet figured out how to manage the time for repeating events. On my test site I set the time for “tasting” events as 6 – 7 pm. The first listing is ok, all others show 10 – 11 pm. Take a look at my test site: Demo-CafĂ© calendar2 There is also a text minimum else you get garbage in the listings. Some of the Timely calendar is very nice, much is just not ready for prime time.
