 * Hi,
 * I’m trying out this plugin but I’ve hit a snag.
 * I’ve created a custom user role that is basically an editor, but I want them
   to have the ability to promote users to the level beneath this level.
 * No matter what I do, even if I make this role mirror the admin capabilities,
   I get a “You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this action” when
   I click on the “All Users” link.
 * Can anyone please help me out here?
 * Thank you,

 * Hi Whatadewitt,
    I have just tried to create a Test Role with all capabilities
   checked and it allows me to create a users. Please check if you didn’t restrict
   access to this menu on Menu Tab and all capabilities checked.
 *  Regards,
    Vasyl

 * Hi Vasyl,
 * I’m home for the weekend, but I may try this tomorrow… I’m wondering if it’s
   just not saving/updating properly in the database… very strange.
 * Thank you,

 * Hi Vasyl,
 * I think I found the problem.
 * I am trying to hide the “Access Manager” in the users menu by checking it in
   the “Main Menu” section of the plugin screen. Whenever it is set to be hidden,
   the user role I have to list users will not allow me to see the full user list.
   For the user role I am creating, I want my users to see “All Users” and “My Profile”,
   so that they may “promote” existing users.
 * Is there a workaround, or anything I can do to achieve this?
 * Thanks,
 * –d

 * Hi Whatadewitt,
    Yeap I see. Happened again 🙂 I forgot to include few lines
   in my code. I’ll do that in next release. But fortunately I have a solution for
   you. Just **do not check** Access Manage under Main Menu. Advanced Access Manager
   can be used by Super Admin or User Role which has **AAM Manage** Capability.
   Please read – [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-access-manager/faq/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-access-manager/faq/).

 * Hi Whatedewitt,
    I’d like to say that already fixed in release 1.4 the issue
   you posted.
 *  Thanks for good call.

 * Hello again Vasyl,
 * I have a similar issue happening…
 * I’ve created a custom user role, it’s much like an author, but with a couple
   of extra capabilities.
 * I want this author to be able to create custom post types, but I don’t want them
   to have access to the “Posts” menu. If I choose to “hide” the post menu item,
   but not hide the custom post type items, I still cannot “View All” of my custom
   post types, even though the capabilities are there.
 * It’s almost as if the plugin is ignoring capabilities and only checking on my
   preferences to what is hidden and not hidden… is there any way you can work that
   into a future release?
 * Thanks!

 * Hi Whatadewitt,
    As I told it is sold of **release 1.4**. And I’m going to release
   it till the end of this week. Regards, Vasyl

 * Hi Vasyl,
 * I’ve updated the plugin to 1.4… However, my “Author” users apparently can no
   longer create any of my custom post types of posts. That is, I have a “Video”
   type, and when I click “add new” I get a “You do not have sufficient permissions
   to perform this action”. Is there anything you can do to help me out with this?
 * Thanks,

 * More info: only happens when I hide the “Posts” menu from this new user role…
   Not sure if that helps.
