[Plugin: AddThis] Code error for IE

  • WP 3.0.3

    Addthis plugin is inserting a piece of code that cannot be digested by IE.
    These

    <br />
    <script type="text/javascript">//<!-- var addthis_product = wpp-250';
    var addthis_append_data = 'true';var addthis_language = 'de';</script>

    are the lines that IE is getting hick-ups over and in response refuses to load anything that’s coming later in row, i.e. the sidebar.

    I think, the error is on line 340 of addthis_social_widget.php

  • Andreas,

    Hmm. Can you tell me if the same problem occurs in the development version?

    Best,
    Matt

    Didn’t have a look at the development version yet, but I think it’s just a misplaced “–>”. Illiterate in coding as I am, I have only a most rudimentary understanding of these coding things. But the opening “<!–” is given in a line that looks like a proper command whereas the closing “–>” is just hanging around without being told where to go.

    Yeah — we think we have a fix in the development version, but various blogs work differently. It’d be great to confirm in your case that replacing the plugin with the dev version resolves the issue!

    Best,
    Matt
