  • I love your plugin. It’s so much more useful than similar ones available. I’ve got a question about importing additional information besides the fields you provide. Is there any way I can modify the code slightly to be able to import date_registered for the my list of users? Would I just changed the name of one of the existing fields you’re using, or possibly add date_registered to the database fields already being pulled? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Basemaly,

Sorry for the delayed response to your question.

I am working additional fields into the plugin now. You may not have any use for it any more, but its part of the plan for the 1.3 version.

I didn’t think of adding the registration date, but I will attempt to get this in there.

    Hi happynuclear,

Thanks for this wonderful plugin. I really appreciate the work you’ve put into it since i’m working on a project that requires the bulk import of 1000+ usernames!

I was wondering if you’d be able to clarify which fields you’re including in the next release? Any chance you will include a field to edit the nicename? If so, that would be a really big help.

I want to order a wp_dropdown_users() function by a user’s last name. To do that I would set their nicename to be of the order ‘lastname_firstname’, whilst keeping their displayname (their username) as firstname_lastname.

At the moment, I currently have to edit the database in a spreadsheet program to manually change the nicenames around. Now whenever I try to add a new user, through Add Multiple Users or through the normal WP user signup form, they don’t get assigned a userid, so i think i’ve broken something 🙁

Also, do you happen to have a timescale for the release of the update? No pressure, just wondering.

Phew, well I fixed my broken add user function. Importing from open office calc broke my table structure, stupid me.

    Looking forward to the update!

    Hi Alter,

Glad you fixed your problem – I was a little lost on that one! Sorry the update is taking a bit longer than I hoped for, have been bombarded by work which sadly takes priority. I’d say its still a good week away, though I’m pushing it every chance I get.

The next version should allow all meta data and user data in both the wp_users and wp_usermeta tables (with the exception of status, spam and deleted column since I cannot find how to update them!) ,plus custom meta data, display name defaults, lots of things. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Sorry to have been confusing! The problem had nothing to do with your plugin 🙂

Sounds like you’re making some serious upgrades in v 1.3! No stress from my side about the release date though. I mean, the sooner the better (for me), but you gotta also have a life too!

fantastic plugin. clear and simple to use, but super powerful. can’t wait to try it out with the option for additional fields. maybe even custom fields with create in functions.php?

    Thanks thecoup =)

For anyone interested, a beta version of 2.0 is available for testing. I made a post about it here:
