[Plugin: Ad Injection] Ads in Google search result it's a penalty Google widget

    Hi, the plugin is awesome.

    But, I can’t find a way to NOT show an ad on the results of Google’s search widget (wich in fact, are shown in a page!).

    I do have ticket “do not show ads in search results” but Google ads results are different.

    I tried blocking page number, slugs, etc – nothings works.

    If this cannot be resolve, I won’t be able to keep using it, cause Google penalizes showing Ads in search results, specially their own.

    Hi mimiburned, Are the ads coming from the Google search widget, or from Ad Injection? I know if you use Google Custom Search they put their own ads in the search results.

    If you are sure it is the ads you have added through Ad Injection ads that are showing up can you…

    1. Check the FAQ (linked top right) to make sure you have correctly tried all the ways of blocking the ads on that page.
    2. Turn on Ad Injection’s debug mode.
    3. Give me a link to a page containing the search widget.

    Yes, it shows the square ad by ad injection, and then, the other Google ads tha they ad in search result.
    I did check the faq, I did everything I can/could, no success.

    I can turn debug mode, but can’t post a link to my page – I prefer to keep it private, sorry.

    So to be clear :

    Are you using a caching plugin? Did you clear the cache after setting the filters for the search page?

    Hello, and sorry to not be much help. Even my English doesn’t help.
    I do use a cache plugin, and cleared cache several timer (also tried with the cache plugin disabled) – the plugin is W3 total cache.

    I’m sorry, I cannot send you anything, I prefer my site to remain anonymous and private.

    Maybe it’s my theme, or maybe someone else will pick up this problem – is a tricky one. Few people know that you cannot have an ad in a search result page.

    I noticed yesterday, and I’ve been using this for like 2 months, go figure!

    Just in case, I use the java version of the Google search widgets.

    Hi mimiburned,

    Did you try the in-page exclusion tags, or the custom field exclusion method?

    The ad exclusion methods do work for many other people, so the chances are that you are doing something wrong.

    But as you aren’t able to give me more information I’m afraid there isn’t much more I can do to help. Good luck!
