Support » Plugin: Related Posts » plugin activated but no settings page

  • Resolved rtwlabs

    Hi All,

I’ve activated this plugin on a few sites in the last couple of weeks only to find when it is activated there is no admin settings page to configure it. The related posts does not display at the bottom of the posts either. It’s happened on fresh installs of WordPress and existing sites with plenty of content.

Am I missing something or is there a problem?

  • Hey, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

Well, the newer version of our plugin offers our users a widget inside your create-new-post page, just below your editor. You can select from a variety of hand-picked, quality, related posts from around the web that you can include in your blog-posts. With it, you enter our recommendations pool, which means that our other bloggers from our Zemanta network can also pick your blog posts as their related posts, when they’re writing about similar stuff.

We strongly believe (belief backed up with our metrics) that this should drive even more various readers to our users blogs, while in the same time allowing our users to share quality articles out of their regular reach.

We sincerely hope you’ll be able to confirm our statements, but you are more than welcome to leave your feedback or ask us anything that might not be completely clear, since we’ll be more than ready to help you out!

Take care & have a nice day!

So you’ve removed the settings page to adjust the layout of how the related posts are displayed, how many posts get displayed at a time etc?

Well, now you can only choose related articles from around the web, but not your own as well. Those are shown to other bloggers, when they are using one of our services.

The layout stays basically the same (one universal theme) and you can choose as many related posts as you wish to have included while creating your blog posts content, in your create-new-post page. You insert them directly into your editor.

Let me know if you have any more questions, since I’ll be more than glad to help you out! Take care!

Nope you’ve answered my question I’ll be removing the plugin from all client sites. I only want to be showing posts from each individual blog, not showing content from other peoples blogs. I’ll swap back to something like nRelate or similar.

Hey, we are sorry to hear, but then again, we can also completely understand your opinion. Your feedback is very crucial to us!

But please do note that we still have our other plugin available that does exactly what you are looking for — it inserts related posts from your own blog only, automatically. It comes with the plugin settings, which offer a variety of display settings, stats, and other customization settings. It’s called ‘Related Posts by Zemanta‘.

For what it’s worth, we don’t plan to make any changes on that plugin any time soon, so you are more than welcome to give it a try. Here’s the link:

As always — your feedback is more than welcome, so please do let us know what you think! Looking forward to your reply!

I am with rtwlabs as I want to show my own posts based on a selected category or tag and optionally the related posts from other people.
I think your plugin is great but it does match my requirements.
As regards to the the other posts: are you selected then with seo key phrases….

Hey @westerdaled, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

I think what you are looking for is our other related posts plugin called ‘WordPress Related Posts’, which enabled you to automatically insert the related posts from your own site as well as optionally add related, quality articles from around the web.

You are more than welcome to try it out, since we’d love to hear your thoughts. Here’s the link: [ link replaced, do not use short links here ]

And please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any more questions or if there’s anything not completely clear, since I’d love to help you out!

Take care & have a nice day!
