Support » Plugins » [Plugin: 6Scan Security ] Ugly Warnings Remain after Manual Fix

  • After completing the recommended manual fixes by 6scan security plugin for “comment posting forgery” and “Usernames enumeration” the vulnerability warnings are still there for each, including the WP admin large and ugly horizontal bar telling me I have 2 unfixed vulnerabilities across the top of every WordPress admin screen.

There’s a one month old topic here highlighting this same issue, but 6 scan is not replying to this topic. They replied to all other topics before and after this topic, but not this one.

If you want to show us ugly warning messages forever, then sorry this plugin is not a good choice.

  • Hey Rajat –

Sorry about that. There is indeed an issue with warnings for manual fixes. We initially didn’t warn for vulnerabilities once they were marked as manually fixed, but then we had a few manual fixes that were applied incorrectly, causing a few sites to get hacked. The problem is that when the fix is applied manually we can’t (yet) detect whether it was done 100% correctly since it wasn’t done by our software.

We will be releasing a new version shortly which will address this, and will also allow you to hide the warning message once you’ve performed the fix.

    Hello 6scan,

I appreciate your prompt reply.I was only looking for a solution. In my theme settings panel a black button shows up with the 6scan warning and it hides half of my theme setting options because of it’s fixed position. For now I have found a temporary workaround for the same. Thanks for releasing new version which will address this issue.
