• Hi,

Somewhat new to WP, although I know my way around a bit. Anyway, just today – without me doing anything to the site – I seem to be locked out of my Admin, getting this error when I try to login:

“Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/mounta34/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/construct/functions.php:24) in /home/mounta34/public_html/wp/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1121”

I’ve tried checking functions.php line:24 for whitespace or errors per other WP support topics, but none seem to be there. Have checked other php’s to see if there are issues there, but am not seeing anything. Anyone have a workaround? I’m happy to uninstall a plugin (delete via ftp) if this will get me back into my dashboard and then can reinstall the bad plugin or deal otherwise. But, I really need to get in!

The only major change I can think of was adding a couple weeks back W3 Total Cache at the suggestion of my host after getting hit by a lot of robots from China. Could that be causing an issue?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Jake

Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate, and you’ll be able to access your site again.

After that, try deactivating all plugins, then enable the problem theme again. If the error does not re-appear, reactivate each plugin individually until you find the case. If the error does re-appear, then the problem is with the theme, and you could try either re-installing the theme or asking the theme’s designer for help.

    Hi MacManX,

That worked like a charm – thank you! And, I figured out the issue. It was a problem with the “DsgnWrks Instagram Importer” plugin I was running, and some code the developer had me enter into functions.php to make the imported posts filtered a bit. Deleted that code, disabled the plugin, and all is good again. Now, just need to find an alternate Instagram importer that works.

    Thanks again!!

    You’re welcome!

I haven’t personally used any Instagram plugins lately, but you could go the plugin-free route with an IFTTT recipe: https://ifttt.com/recipes/search?q=instagram+to+wordpress&ac=false
