Plug works, then stops working

    Plugin works great for months, then will suddenly stop working (no longer blocks proxies/VPNs and stops counting queries). Currently hasn’t worked for the last few days. I have a paid subscription with proxycheck.io and the debug option shows everything is working ok..

    Any help with troubleshooting would be appreciated.

    Hello MrOG,

    Apologies for the issues you are having, I have PVB running on multiple websites with no issues.

    May I ask what the “Remote Visitor IP Header” Option is set to under PVB Settings > Main tab.

    also can you please tell me what the result of the “Remote Visitor IP Header” setting is under PVB Debugging page.

    Header option is set to Cloudflare Header because I use Cloudflare.

    Debugging page shows: Remote Visitor IP Header: HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP

    Just to be sure, have there been any other changes to your site recently? Are you using any caching plugin at all?

    Are you using a custom block page or the standard block message page? Please also check the Custom Blocked Page option to be sure it is set as intended (empty field if no custom block page), there was an issue in 2.0.0 specifically, that may have selected the first item in the list if none was previously selected.

    Zero changes to the website.. Last time this happened a month or so ago, it stopped working (not blocking and not recoding any queries), then 2 days later started it just started working again.

    Not using a block page, just a message- all settings look as intended and the Debug page still says all is ok.

    Also disabled all other plugins and Cloudflare for troubleshooting and the same thing is happening (no queries, no blocking).

    Also fully deleted the plugin with Cleanup enabled, then re-installed with all default settings, and still no joy.

    Also confirmed that if I set it to Restrict on Specific Pages it will block on those pages, but everything stops working when I put it back to Block Entire Site.

    I have tested Block on Entire Site and it appears to be working normally as far as I can see. At least on my sites.

    All I can think of is that you have some caching going on somewhere, possibly server/web host side as you say that there is no Cache Plugin on your site.
