Support » Plugin: BP Profile Search » Plug in URL and setting it up as a separate page to be used as item in menu

    Currently when I do a search it comes out with this ugly URL

    mysite.com/members/?field_2=&field_12=&field_112=&field_7=&options[]=like&bp_profile_search=2850

    Is there a way to change it to mysite.com/searchresults or something like that?

    Also is it possible to set up a separate page for this plugin in under mysite.com/search so that I can use it in a menu?

    These questions are easier to answer 🙂

    1. To get clean URLs, select POST as your Form Method.

    2. To put a search form in a separate page, use the form shortcode.

    I got #1 done, looks nice now, thanks !

    Can you please tell me where to find the form shortcode, im looking in plugin settings and dont see any fields like that

    All the form shortcodes are listed in Users -> Profile Search

    I set up a new page with shortcode on it and I am posting in to that page. The problem is that when I open that page I see all the search boxes/criteria but when I click search no results show up. Any idea what it is not working? Thanks

    I meant when i click search nothing happens, the same search fields are visible there is no output with results. It works fine on members page.

    If I understand it correctly, you wish to set up a new page containing both your search form and your search results.

    If so, the procedure is:

    1. Create a custom Members Directory page;

    2. Use it as the results page for your search form, and put the search form in the Directory itself.

    Both points are detailed in http://dontdream.it/bp-profile-search/custom-directories/

    Ok thanks, I think Im on the right path now, just have to figure out how to place a widget on that page now.

    There is a text “Advanced Search” that shows up, it interferes with my layout, is there a way to hide it? Also is it possible to change “Toggle Form” to “Search Form” I dont think many people understand what toggle is.
