[Plug-In : NextGEN Gallery] JQUERY/Prototype conflict in IE8

Hi!

I wrote yesterday about the problem with my site in IE8. I’m using NGGallery with Lightview, which is a lightbox script that uses prototype and scriptaculous.

Here’s one of my pages:

For some reason, the lightbox effect doesn’t work in IE8. I stripped down the page until I was able to figure out that the conflict comes from the jquery script used by NGG (lightview didn’t work until I took out the head link to jquery.js.)

Here’s my test page, which has not much left – and from which I just took out jquery:

Now the changelog for NGG says that it was modified to be in “no conflict mode” since May 2007, so I don’t know what to think.

Could anyone help? My site not working in IE8 is a big issue!
