[Plug-in : Hyper Cache] – Create 'cache' file after update?

  • Hi Folks,

First time poster hope somebody can help!!

I have installed the Hyper Cache Plug-in and all was working swimmingly until an update was required earlier this week.

Now I have a prompt in my wp-admin panel stating :-

Hyper Cache was not able to create the folder “cache” in its installation dir. Create it by hand and make it writable.

Where do I create this file and how so I get rid of the prompt on the wp-admin page!!!

I have created a file in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/hyper-cache and called it cache with permissions set to 777 but still get the warning flashing up!!

    HELP!!

  • You have to use an FTP program to open the wp-content folder.
    Then open the plugins folder.
    Then open the hyper-cache folder.

Once the hyper-cache folder is open, create a new foldernot a file — in it called “cache”

Next, you want to empty the cache and browser cookies.

You have to do this every time the Hyper Cache plugin is updated.

NOTE: You don’t want to add it to the hyper-cache folder located in /wp-content. You want the folder located in wp-content/plugins
