• I had a perfect blog set up, working excellent, and then decided to change the name– discovered too many other blogs by that name–should have checked first, right? Found name not being used and did not know dire significance of changing url for wp…lost all my work apparently, and then informed that was a tragic no no. Maybe in the future, there could be a warning in the wp-settings right by the box, DO NOT CHANGE THIS…just a suggestion. Wish there was a way to get it all back without redoing entire blog. Looks like this is an unresolved issue.

Errr… What? You can change the URL of a blog without losing the content.

in wp-setting, there is a box that says I could change url for wp and for my yahoo site, I changed the url from sitename/blog, to sitename/newname, and everything was lost…I cannot get back into my admin to do anything, not even the wp setting, my site, allaboutus-greetingcards.com/blog is no longer available, I thought I was changing the title from oh my blog, to 1 whirl, and now oh my blog is gone, along with all formatting..using theme by robbie williams, green idea is gone, gone gone

Ahh. Well, next time, don’t change those unless you know what you’re doing.

Also, don’t double post your issues on these forums: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/184763

Your solution is in the other thread.
