Please don’t post titles in all caps.
What firefox toolbar are you talking about? I use WP on Firefox and never see any firefox plugin.
Hello,
I’m sorry about the caps. I was looking at my fingers til I was almost done and didn’t feel like retyping.
I also apologize about bringing it to the wrong person’s attention. I was following a link at the bottom of the Sharaholic Plugin settings page and I thought it took me to the WordPress.org support site for them.
They are the ones with the stupid plugin ad. They keep encouraging me to get their firefox plugin. That’s what I was complaining about. It’s a top bar drop down ad that keeps recurring and it moves the whole page down 3/4″ or so and is a pain in the butt.
I’m sorry I didn’t aim my frustrations correctly… It’s just pretty ghetto behavior, even for someone writing shareware.
I’m kindof shocked…
Thanks for your help.
Chris
Nah, no prob 🙂 I’m sorry that the Sharaholic Plugin is doing that!
Do you mean this one? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sexybookmarks/
If it’s prompting you on every page, you’re right, that’s not cool at all. They shouldn’t be advertising like THAT.
Yep – that’s them. And no it’s not on every single page, but it’s NOT just on their setup page, and it doesn’t go away for a while… Eventually it will, but a few days later it will be right back again pestering all over the dashboard.
Thanks
Hmm. It seems to correctly go-away in Chrome.
I wonder if that’s a bug. Certainly it’s not welcome.
Followup – I asked ’em. They said “Yes, it’s a bug!” So good to know 🙂
In order to correct the problem, follow these simple instructions:
Under the SexyBookmarks settings in the ‘Shareaholic for Publishers [BETA]’ panel, select ‘No’ for ‘Want to know about new products?’ to disable the popup from reappearing while in your Admin Panel. Make sure to save these changes so that they will take effect, and that’s it! Hope this helps!
