Purpose of the blog: To discuss governance for small to large businesses (SMB)

Description: I am a newbee with wordpress and blogs in general. My posts are about what governance means to SMBs and how they should implement a good governance system. It also discusses both the problems and solutions of SMB governance, and contrasts these with the governance of large enterprises.

Over time I will have many posts covering the many aspects of SMB governance. Consequently, I need help with the layout of the blog so that readers can find their way about and get to what they want to read, learn and comment on.

Being a newbee I would appreciate suggestions on *any* aspect of my blog which will make it more accessible to readers and attract the most readers. I will be happy to accept harsh criticisms as I know that they are given in the spirit of helping me.

  • I would add some color, ’cause your blog looks a little bit dead (though i like grey) and boring. You need some action or your visitors will never come back.
It’s also hard to read such long posts on the front page. I think it’d be better to use <!–more–>.
Also if you’re going to create a serious community, it’ll be nice to customize registration/login pages in order to connect them with your blog’s style.
Anyway, Safari + Opera = everything works fine.

Thank you for your suggestions. I like the idea of removing the full posts from the first page. I now how to learn how to use <!–more–>. I will still have a large number of posts over time, but I suspect that the archiving by month will relieve that problem somewhat.

I agree that the site is boring, but as this is a business/academic subject, I’m not sure of the best way to jazz it up without detracting from it’s purpose.

I’m not sure what you mean my customizing the registration/login page.

You have given me a number of improvements to think about. Thank you.
