If you wan to post about a bug or CLASH that you think is caused by this plugin PLEASE first check that it is not caused by the widgets that you are attempting to use with this plugin. Do this by
    1) test this plugin with a text widget or very simple widget only – no problems? Good, then if you experience a problem when adding in your widget it is 99.99% likely it is caused by the widget.
    2) PLEASE also ensure that you test the widget you want to use in a normal sidebar WITHOUT this plugin before using it with this plugin.
I suggest doing https://validator.w3.org/ test and browsershot tests. MANY plugins issue bad html, or style or javascript dumped in the middle of the html in ways that do not work.

This plugin is actually extremely simple and does NOT issue any JS, or css itself. It is possible that a particular widget may not work well when used as a shortcode because of the way it is written, or because it does not expect NOT to be in a sidebar. If this happens it is NOT a bug in this plugin. There are ways that you might be able to influence the html and the css used by adding parameters to he do_widget as indicated in the parameters section here https://wordpress.org/plugins/amr-shortcode-any-widget/#installation. If you are not already familiar with the various browsers (i prefer firefoxes the best) web development tool (inspect element), time to learn – this will help you see what css might be clashing between your theme and the widget. A plain old ‘view source’ will also help you to see what your widget is issuing and may indicate what the problem is.

  • I installed this per the instructions, testing it in the standard sidebar. Everything went great, after some tweaking. When I uploaded it onto the relevant page, it looked great. It didn’t stay fixed where I would want it, but hey, I had my menu and it stayed in place on the right side of the page.

Several days later, I have NO menu and a message “Widget not in any sidebars”

    What’s going on?

no idea. Is it still in the sidebar?

whether the widget stays in the special sidebar is not in the plugins control. It just creates the sidebar as a cross theme place to define the widget settings, and then literally just calls do widget (Wp function).

I just did a quick google on ‘Wordpress widget disappears’ and it seems it’s a thing. It happens. Suggest look at some posts to see what happened to others and why.
