Added it after seeing it recommended on the wpbeginner website… not realising it was the same owner sneakily promoting their own products which sneakily ask for credit card information pretending “We only need it to prevent spam registrations” when in actual fact, the fine print says only 300 pageviews a month are free and then you are automatically charged. Only 300 pageviews a month!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Thankfully I read the fine print and deleted this scam product straight away.

    Hi @makerman,

Thanks for sharing this reminder to read the fine print – that’s always important no matter what product you’re using.

You’re 100% right. All our plans require a credit card in order to start, even the free plan.

However, it’s not our intent to scam you or charge you unexpectedly. That’s why you can control when and if your card on file is used within your account settings.

You can read more about those settings here – https://optinmonster.com/docs/pageview-and-upgrade-preferences/.

We also strive to be fully transparent, so we stay in touch every step of the way. We do this by sending two email notifications before you reach your account limits. That way, you know what will happen next. Here’s a copy of what one of the emails says – https://a.supportally.com/qLMZTu.

And if needed, you can also take advantage of our 14-day unconditional money-back guarantee.

We’re sorry OptinMonster didn’t work out for you, and thank you again for trying OptinMonster out. Good luck with your future endeavors!
