 * Hi guys,
 * I am loving King Composer, but I’m not loving the fact that Google PageSpeed
   Insights reports that I need to minimise certain CSS and JS files on my site,
   those files being:
 * /wp-content/plugins/kingcomposer/assets/frontend/js/KingComposer.js
    /wp-content/
   plugins/kingcomposer/includes/frontend/vendors/viewportchecker/viewportchecker.
   js /wp-content/plugins/kingcomposer/assets/frontend/css/shortcodes.css
 * I mean, I could minify them myself, but I would have to do it every time the
   plugin is updated.
 * Thanks!

 * Why can’t you install a plugin to do it for you? There are lots of great ones
   out there. You don’t have to manually minify every time a plugin is updated as
   the caching plugin can handle it for you.

 * [@brent](https://wordpress.org/support/users/brent/) I’d rather not install a
   further plugin and add further overhead. The site in question is very lean and
   using minimal plugins. It’d be trivial for the King Composer dev guys to do this,
   and it’s best practice anyways.

 * [@brent](https://wordpress.org/support/users/brent/) Despite my previous comment
   I went ahead and followed your suggestion, installing the popular Autoptimize
   plugin to minify and concatenate my CSS and JS files. This broke some of the
   functionality on my site. For example, I’m using [SelectBoxIt](http://gregfranko.com/jquery.selectBoxIt.js/)
   to style dropdowns, this stopped working.

 * Well depending on functionality needed, minification and concentation can break
   things. You always have to be careful. Have you tried to mess with the placement
   of your scripts in Autoptimize?
 * Performance optimization isn’t an exact science, of course. Things can and do
   go wrong, and you have to adjust. However, don’t get hung up on Pagespeed scores
   or other “scores”. The score means virtually nothing. What matters is user experience.
 * I’m a huge fanatic when it comes to site performance and optimization. But getting
   a perfect score doesn’t always mean your site is perfectly optimized. In fact,
   there are times when the suggestions made using Pagespeed can HURT the way your
   site performs. So don’t get too stuck on the performance score.

 * And for the record, I AM a fan and support your request of having the King Composer
   files minimized by the developer. I was only making the above suggestions as
   an alternative until they do. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it. I think it
   would be good for them to do so.
 * I do wonder though if they keep it this way because of their API and easier developer
   access? They seem to be huge supporters of developers to want to extend KC.

 * hi there;
    I’m Autoptimize’s developer. Most (if not all) issue with things breaking
   can be fixed by changing AO’s settings on the admin-page. [Have a look at the FAQ](https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/faq/)
   for info on how to proceed troubleshooting.
 * hope this helps,

 * Hello,
 * Thank you so much guys!
 * Yes that is a shortcoming of mine. And surely I will do it. But not now because
   I am updating plugin daily to improve.
