There are lots of great ones out there. The site in question is very lean and using minimal plugins. This broke some of the functionality on my site. You always have to be careful. Have you tried to mess with the placement of your scripts in Autoptimize? * Performance optimization isn’t an exact science, of course. Things can and do go wrong, and you have to adjust. However, don’t get hung up on Pagespeed scores or other “scores”. The score means virtually nothing. What matters is user experience. * I’m a huge fanatic when it comes to site performance and optimization. But getting a perfect score doesn’t always mean your site is perfectly optimized. In fact, there are times when the suggestions made using Pagespeed can HURT the way your site performs. I was only making the above suggestions as an alternative until they do. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it. I think it would be good for them to do so. * I do wonder though if they keep it this way because of their API and easier developer access? Most (if not all) issue with things breaking can be fixed by changing AO’s settings on the admin-page.
