“New: Spaces are now auto-formatted into credit card number fields.”

Since the “upgrade” to 2.8.2, credit card checkouts have been denied due to the HTML5 errror “Please match the requested format”.

    Downgrading to <2.8.2 helps.

Could it be that the formatting HTML5 verification doesn’t like the spaces?

We’ve tracked down the problem and fixed it. We’ll have an update released shortly for it.

How did this pretty serious bug survive the testing process?

    Plugin Author mordauk

It got past testing because it only affects a certain set of payment gateways (less common ones). Braintree just happens to be one of the gateways that was affected.

It does not affect, for example, the Stripe gateway, which is by far our most popular gateway and the one that sees the most testing.

    Oh, ok then.

Wish I could have Stripe. Oh well…

We’ll push out the 2.8.3 update as soon as we’ve completed some additional testing.
