please help: wp 2.0 re-installation resulted in empty blog

    here is what happened:
    was using my database backup to restore status before installing 2.0. after hitting the upgrade-button i got this output:

    [WordPress]

    WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘user_nickname’ in ‘field list’]
    SELECT ID, user_nickname, user_nicename FROM wp_users
    Schritt 1

    Es gibt nur einen Schritt. Also, wenn Sie das hier sehen, ist alles fertig. Viel Spass!

    … all i can find now on my blogs adress is an empty kubrick blog, so the database connection obviously didn´t work?! anyone knows what to do? please help out!

    Just a little confused here…

    Was the backup made at 1.5.2 then you attempted to upgrade to 2.0?

    yes, was 1.5.1…
    found meanwhile that for some reason not the whole db was backed up by phpMyadmin… damn. lucky that i have an older backup somewhere. also the backups i made with wp database backup plugin by skippy left out those tables (for instance wp_posts). also i found an empty table on my sql on first position, which can´t be deleted. i get the following error:
    #1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1

    Don’t know why you had problems because skippy’s plugin backs up all the WordPress ‘standard’ tables.

    might be because i used sam´s multiply plugin, which creates wp_1_xx tables. database plug did only backup those wp_1_xx tables, refused to start when i checked the wp_xx ones.

    any idea how i can kill this empty table (error #1064)? thanks!

    You mean DROP the table?

    i tried dropping it by myphpadmin, which didn´t work. error codes as above.
