Please help, WordPress installation on Mac

    I have a wordpress blog, the url is one i have purchased off godaddy. I was happy using the existing wordpress themes but would now like to install one that I have purchased from ThemeForest.

    I must admit this area is not my expertise, however after a bit of research i found in order to add the theme to my blog, i first needed to install wordpress onto my mac using MAMP and did so by following instructions http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_Locally_on_Your_Mac_With_MAMP

    However, having installed this i have come across the following issues:
    1. can’t log onto my existing blog account, it only gives option to set up a new blog
    2. when i try to set the url to my purchased domain, it won’t let me as the wordpress application has been installed through the local host.

    You can just upload it on the theme page on your WordPress site. there is an upload button, just browse to your theme in .zip format, and choose, then choose install on the page.
    Wordpress does it for you.
