• Me and my friend have been using WordPress for more than a year now and we always stumbled upon this same problem, that is WordPress asking us to Install things from the beginning.

This happens in a few minutes (30 or so) while we’re editing our website. One second we’re updating our site and suddenly we get moved to the Install Page, unable to get back for another (30+ minutes).

We use Atspace by the way. We tried repairing database from atspace but it didn’t make a difference. Later, we tried to repair MySQL database but we couldn’t enter straight away. Apparently when the site is down (aka WordPress asking to Install) we are also unable to enter MySQL.

However when it was back up we once again entered MySQL and repaired database in hopes of fixing the issue once and for all but like always, some time working on updates, the website goes back to the wordpress page asking for Install.

    -Notes-
*we never lose any of our work
*we never re-installed wordpress (of course)
*we normally work on Windows XP (if it makes a difference)

Help would be very much appreciated,
this problem wastes so much of our time, risks our website and we’re simply fed up of it. Help!

  • Have you tried:
-deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
-switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    thanks kmessinger,
I’ll take note of that as I don’t have access to the website, my friend does. We’ll try anything at this point cause its just ridiculous
