# Please help with SQL error

 * I’m using 2.1.2, my blog is [MomReviews](http://momreviews.net), and I came across
   this error when I installed a new theme-
 * WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual
   that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near”
   at line 1]
    SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM
 * I know how to get to MySQL, but I’m not sure what they mean by “the right syntax”.
   Could someone please explain what I need to look for to correct this error? Thank
   you.

 * My guess would be the theme is not compatible with 2.1.x.
