  • Do you have a control panel you can log into to access all of your files? You can find/delete the plugin there.

I have a class starting tomorrow and I am panicking – please help

What’s the name of your host?

    hostgator

You should be able to get some support by calling the hosting company. They will usually walk you through stuff like this.

but they won’t know how to fix my plugin?

Yeah, they’re pretty good about helping with issues like this. You may even find someone nice enough to take care of the problem for you. I would try to help you myself, but I think it would be much easier if you had a voice guiding you through the process. Don’t freak out, it shouldn’t take too long to get the issue resolved. Tell them the name of the name of the plugin and they should find it and zap the problem pretty quickly.

ok so I removed plugin from ftp and site is back now I am nervous about how to make this plugin work when I have read all the documentation – if I install it again the screen goes black if I log out

What’s the name of the plugin, I’ll look it up real quick to see if I can offer some help. You likely will not find anyone that can “fix” the plugin, but maybe we can at least offer suggestions. If it breaks your site you should not keep trying to use it.

    theme my login

Next time you run into a problem like this, try doing a Google search using key words related to your plugin and issue/s you’re having. Example: “Theme My Login, blank screen.”

Here is one that I found that may help: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/theme-my-login-62-broken?replies=33

My guess is that you have another plugin installed that is causing TML plugin to act buggy. Try not to go crazy with plugins, using too many can slow down your site and/or break other plugins.

You may want to try to deactivate all other plugins while trying to get the TML plugin working. Then you can reactivate them one by one until you run into the same blank screen problem. The last plugin you reactivate is going to be the one that is causing the TML plugin to “break.”

Correction: The last plugin you reactivate that causes the TML plugin to break is going to be the culprit.
