please help – trying to use a Theme Viewer theme for the first time

    Hello-

I am trying to start a blog based on a theme which I downloaded out of Theme Viewer. However, when I log in, it does not provide me with the option to use my selected theme. It gives me about a dozen choices, but I would prefer to use the one of the 1600+ that I specifically selected…

If anyone could shed light on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m new to this. Thanks.

whats the url to the blog?
did you upload the theme to wp-content/themes/?
    did you upload it properly?
what is the name of the theme directory as it exists on your web site?

It gives me about a dozen choices,

The default install of wp only has two themes. It sounds like your using either wpmu or wordpress.com. Either case it’s not this forum.

    Hello-

Thanks for the replies. I am in fact using wordpress.com. However, when I posted the identical question there, initially, the first reply that I received was to tell me that I should post my question in this forum…

I got the theme out of Theme Viewer at wordpress.net, I don’t know if that makes any difference…

This is the forums for self hosted blogs using the wordpress.org software. Take it back up with the folks at the WordPress.com forum. In fact if I remember correctly you can’t upload themes to wordpress.com unless you pay for it so it would be in fact a vain effort.
