# Please help. PHP issue???

 * Any help would be appreciated.
 * our websites were compromised with a PHP 5.2 breach. our provider has now upgraded
   to php 5.3 our websites now just get the dreaded ” error establishing database
   connection”
 * everythign seems ok. we restored our website to previous, before compromised 
   versions, set it to php 5 and upgraded wordpress. when we then change php to 
   5.3 we get the error.
 * anyone with any ideas??

 * I have the same issue – php 5.2 breach, move to php 5.3 with clean backups and
   get the error establishing database connection.
 * It’s not the config file – I’ve gone through that with a fine tooth comb.
 * I’ve also removed all plug ins and just had a fresh wordpress 3.4.1 and still
   get the error establishing database connection which makes me think there is 
   a root wordpress compatibility issue.
