• Hey peeps.

I’m trying to get rid of my left sidebar, because when I make posts, the left sidebar just takes up too much room, making the body of any post very narrow instead of wider like I would like.

    My page is – http://www.musicproductionnatural.com

I just started it and I would really, really appreciate your help with this.

The theme I’m using is called “Custom Community.”

I’m not really sure if it’s really even considered a sidebar or not, it’s just that space on the left that is divided to the left by that vertical white line.

    Thanks in advance !

  • You should contact theme author of Custom Community theme as that’s not the default look of the theme as I’ve seen it. @svenl77 has even encouraged others at BP.org forums to check out his forums as the answers might already be there.

    The version is 1.6.2

I just posted in svenll77’s forums for help. It looks like they have a new custom community version – is it easy to upgrade to it? or will it mess all the work i’ve done so far on my webpage up?

Basically, how do I upgrade without messing up my page?

will it mess all the work i’ve done so far on my webpage up?

It could, it all depends on what the changes were in the new theme. Upgrade could be seamless if you created a child theme of Custom Community. However, your question would be better addressed at the custom-community theme forums.

Having said that, you could already test it yourself but back up theme and DB before upgrading to new theme. If it doesn’t work out, revert to backe up theme and DB.
