I tried to see if I could change the wording of the footer of the site. Before doing that I copied and pasted the code in a word document that way I have the original coding. Now I can't even update anything and have been getting this notice:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home4/greensox/public_html/wp-content/themes/mantra/includes/theme-functions.php on line 344

PLEASE HELP! I'm in panic mode!

You will need to use FTP to access the file that you have changed and revert your changes. In future, do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.

I don't think I ever set up a file manager on my computer - anything I set up I did online on wordpress - will this be an issue?

It shouldn't be. The only other alternative is to use whatever file management application your hosts may provide via your hosting account.,

okay ... I set up FileZilla and have access to the FTP files. What do I do now?

Also, do I need to contact the Mantra developers?

Download a fresh copy of the Mantra theme to your computer. Open the archive and extract the includes/theme-functions.php and upload it to the wp-content/themes/mantra/includes folder on your site.

I'll give it a shot. When you say, "...upload it to the wp-content/themes/mantra/includes folder on your site." You mean using FileZilla, right?

Yes, FTP to your site files on the server.

Okay - just downloaded a fresh copy of mantra & found ncludes/theme-functions.php - I looked for the wp-content/themes/mantra/includes folder in FileZilla, but don't see it. I must be doing something wrong (?)

Have you connected to your server with FileZilla? Ask your hosting company how to do that if not - the access info isn't the same as your WP info.

Yes, WPyogi, I have received the host code, username, password, & port number via hostgator.com - this is what you mean, right?

Yep, so once you are connected, you should be able to find your site files -

    wp-content
        themes
           mantra
              includes

    ??

Look in the www folder - if it's not there, ask HostGator.
