• How do I enable the media categories and taxonomies set by media library searched? The documents are not showing up in the results. Somebody please answer. I am seriously considering this plugin for my site functionality of document management. If a document cannot be searched by the category , tag attached to it, there is no point setting up all these for each and every document.

    Thanks,

    Hello Sara,

Sorry that we missed your question. There are no notifications for reviews, unfortunately.

    Please give me more information:

    1) What do you mean by document? What kind of media file?

    2) Do you mean searching on front- or back-end?

    3) Can you please post a screenshot of the admin page where you need search by category?

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Hi Nadia,
I am looking for a plugin which gives me below functionality.

    1. I have pdf, doc, pptx, xls files in my media library.
    2. The admin uploads a document to the library. Need to categorize and tag the document on the same screen.
    3. Category page should be auto listing all the documents specific to that Category.
    a) Need to display date next to the file name.
    b) Option to display NEW! colored alert for top 2 or 3 results
    c) Number of hits for each doc.

    4. On the same page I need to auto generate dynamic lists of documents filtered by each tag(or custom field) under that category.

    a) These lists should be latest documents(Sort:Desc).
    b) Filtered results limited by specified number.
    c) Frontend Search page with 4 dropdown boxes 1.Category 2. Tags
    3.Date 4. keyword
    d) Results are listed along with Date posted/modified, size, hits.
    e) Search, hits incorporated with analytics.

Please let me know if I can achieve these with Enhanced Media Library.

    Thanks,
    Sara Kuntumalla

    Hi Sara,

    (1) You can add MIME Types for uploading on Media Settings > MIME Types option page.

    (2) You can categorize or tag media files by native or custom created taxonomies.

(3)-(4) and their sub-items depend on your theme. You have to create a template for media archive page with all options described.

You can turn on/off the whole media taxonomy archive page feature on Media Settings > Taxonomies > Options – “Taxonomy archive pages” option.

You also can consider Search & Filter plugin for these purposes as well. It will work with the EML’s taxonomies.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask for further help if you need it.

    Best,
    -Nadia
