Hi! I recently posted a new blog post, and noticed after I published it, that there is a block of what looks like coding under my signature at the bottom of the post. None of my other posts have this, and I have no clue how it got there, or how I can get rid of it. This is what it looks like:

    [contact-form][contact-field label="Name" type="name" required="true" /][contact-field label="Email" type="email" required="true" /][contact-field label="Website" type="url" /][contact-field label="Message" type="textarea" /][/contact-form]

I thought it had something to do with my comment section, but this seems to be working fine.

If someone could give me some direction on this, I would greatly appreciate it!
    thank you!

  • Hello, I think that this is a contact form shortcode from Jetpack plugin.

If you have Jetpack enabled + it’s contact form then you should be seeing a form there instead of the shortcode and that form should’ve been added by a button on your text editor when you wrote your post.

Either way if that is the case you should be able to edit your post and select Text mode on the top right corner of the editor, if you scroll down you are probably going to find this code in there as well and you can simply delete it.

Hi @xkon ! Thanks so much for your reply! I went back and tried the “Text” mode, and this code is nowhere in my post editing. Under my signature, there is nothing. I even tried disabling my Jetpack contact form, and it still shows up. I’m stumped!

Figured it out! Somehow it got copied in my “disclaimer to display in footer” section. Deleted it from there and now its gone!

Might there be an extra option from your theme? Since it’s commercial there is no access to the files to research it unfortunately on that spectrum and help out. Or even a Cache issue for example if you are using a caching plugin or if your host has a built in one as wall it’s cache may be in need of deletion.

If that shortcode is not inside your posts text then something is triggering it but without insight information it will be hard to pinpoint it ^_^ so I’m just making suggestions in the dark here in case you stumble upon something.

Edit: I was replying and then I saw you found it ! Awesome 🙂
