 * Stupidly, when I uploaded the initial WordPress installation files I also added
the folder they were in called ‘WordPress’. So when I created my site and tried
going on it, the first page showed the option for the directory ‘wordpress’.
So I would have to click that to get to my website.
 * You can see what I mean by looking at my site – [http://www.mysite.co.uk/](http://www.mysite.co.uk/)
 * So I decided to delete all the files and upload them the right way… which made
   everything all messed up.
 * Also when I tried to log in (using [http://www.mysite.co.uk/wp-login.php](http://www.mysite.co.uk/wp-login.php))
   I got a 404 error message saying
 * —
    Not Found
 * The requested URL /wordpress/wp-login.php was not found on this server.
    Apache
   Server at [http://www.mysite.co.uk](http://www.mysite.co.uk) Port 80 —
 * So I’m guessing that the site was still looking for the file wordpress/wp-login.
php rather than the wp-login.php it should be looking for…
 * I have now put the files back where they were in the first place so I still have
   this problem
 * So does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this or start again?
 * As you most probably guessed I am a beginner… Thanks a lot in advance for any
   help.

 * This article gives directions which I think will help:
 * However your situation is a bit different, the first step is to put everything
back into the ‘wordpress’ folder, then work out the config changes to ultimately
arrive at the endpoint in the article.
