Support » Plugin: Google Analytics Dashboard for WP by ExactMetrics (formerly GADWP) » Can someone please explain the “Ecommerce Tracking” options?

  • Resolved bennygill

I have just setup this Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP) plugin AND the official WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration plugin.

But I’m not sure what I should be choosing underneath the setting Tracking Code > Integration > Ecommerce Tracking. See screenshot here:

It has three options: Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin, Ecommerce Plugin, and Disabled.

I have checked over the help documents for GADWP but there is no information about the setting, beyond the fact that it exists.

Can anyone explain what each option is supposed to do?

  • Hi,

The setting of that option depends on your Analytics Property setup. If enhanced e-commerce is enabled then choose Enhanced Ecommerce Plugin, otherwise select Ecommerce Plugin.

If I am using WooCommerce, and my Analytics Property is setup for enhanced e-commerce, do I need another plugin to add the enhanced e-commerce tracking code to my site?

There are currently two options for adding that extra code and configuring it to work with WooCommerce:

But maybe I don’t need any of those if GADWP already takes care of what those plugins are doing??

Could you please elaborate on this a bit more because I want to make sure my setup is correct.

You need both GADWP and one of the plugins mentioned above. In the Woocommerce tracking plugins you will need to disable basic tracking. The main tracking code will be handled by GADWP.

    Thanks for your help!

Would be amazing if you could include support for WooCommerce Enhanced E-commerce tracking out of the box. Trying to run these two different plugins together is creating a lot of problems that could be solved if everything was under one roof.

It would make this plugin 10x better than anything else available.

And WooCommerce is now the largest e-commerce platform and is showing no signs of slowing down, so I’m sure tons of people would also appreciate it 🙂

If you run Enhanced Ecommerce Google Analytics Plugin for WooCommerce along with GADWP, make sure you uncheck “Add Universal Analytics Tracking Code (Optional)” in the enhanced plugin so you don’t get 2x the actual data recorded in GA.

I would also love it if GADWP supports Woo so I only have to run 1 plugin.
