As a user of this plugin since the beginning, small changes has been made. But one annoying change is that the package routine starts before the data-base check. That means, you have to manually by FTP delete all files when Duplicator fails.

We use Duplicator about 90% of initial “clone” upload for our clients. That means about 20 websites each week. About 2/20 fails bec. of bad servers or limited shit. We actually used this plugin sometimes to just validate by running the “installer” to see if the enviroment is “worth working with”.

Our develepoment team have been using another plugin for the matter, but, when it comes to all aspects for the “job”, Duplicator is just the “the one”. You can tell, this plugin; “its been around…”

Summary, consider this aspect/ point of view and thanks for a great work – including sharing on the WordPresss repository.

    Hi @intervik,

If you want to download a version from the beta line here:
    http://snapcreek.com/duplicator/duplicator-lite-1-3-beta/

I have added a new link from step 1 of the installer under the validation section titled “Quick Database Connection Test”. This will open a window/tab that will allow you to test the database connection before running step 1 extraction process. Beta is still a few months out from being pushed live, but at least you can play around with the feature now if you want.

    Thanks~
