PS – As much as I hate splash pages, there will be one. I think people are used to seeing one large image when they visit a photography site, so there will be one on the splash page. Also, I am having a flash game designed for my site as link bait, and the splash page will have a direct link to it.

PPS – I haven’t added wedding galleries yet… I know this. 🙂 I was going to add individual weddings but now I think I am going to do categories… details, ceremony, reception, etc. 🙂

    IMO, remove the stats link.

the sitemeter will be invisible before i go live. anything else? i LOVE your site, btw.

    Okay, it’s invisible now… why procrastinate? 🙂

    Ok,

I like the colors and the photos are GREAT! But, I hate splash pages. This is my suggestion (can’t be long, cooking dinner). Top of page: Small photos and underneath information about you. Get the attention of the audience is seconds. Tell them about you right now! Your experience, your photo education. Next paragraph: Weddings – give information about wedding work. Next paragraph: Portraits info about portraits. Next paragraph: Baby Photos etc.

Footer – small photos again of your work.

Hello ‘readheadedninja’ (That kind of scares me, I’m afraid of Ninja’s, long story involving my brother a few years ago)

Firstly, love your site, I too just finished a COMPLETE renovation of my photography website (Breaking the rules here, I know, but http://www.db-photo.com)

    A few things:
1 – In your navbar across the top, the FAQ button links to a password protected page, however you have recent posts that are FAQ content. This could lead to confusion/problems with visitors
2 – Kind of the spell checker in me your FAQ: Why can’t I print my own prints, “Exhibit D” is listed twice. I know.. knitpicky.
3 – And finally, I don’t know if you prefer it this way, but in the circles I run in, and conversations I’ve had with lots of people, but having the ‘Login’ link for your blog admin listed (unless of course you have multiple contributors) is kind of tacky.

Other than that, the site is great. 🙂

heh, i’m such a dummy i put a password of 3 instead of pagerank. hehe.

the login will be used to view proofs. should i change that to “login to view proofs?”

eh. ok, so you’ve lost me for a second. the ‘Log in’ in the very top right of your page, it currently links to the wp-admin.php which is word press admin page, but your proofs, from the looks of it are going to be done with gallery2 which is in the folder ./wpg2/ all completely different folder.

Are you just using the current log in link as a place holder or am i missing something?

Also, drop me a line at dbrock {@} db-photo [.] com (Gotta beat the spambots) I’d be glad to share a few pointers on a few issues i ran into with gallery2 as a proofing system.

as of today the link you provided to your old non-WP site works
