Overall, this is a good plug-in and very helpful. I just wish there was more customizations that can be done specifically one thing I would like to do is be able to edit with the button text throughout the system. Some of them don’t really make any sense. Like for example, when someone submitting a job it says preview, but that makes the user think that all they’re doing is previewing it and they’re not taking the next step towards submission. I would like to change that button into Preview and submit job to make it more clear. Another example would be allowing for making the link opening a new tab, changing link colors and a variety of other things. Adding more options in settings like this would be helpful.

Also having more common page builder support like the Elementor theme builder to allow for custom page design would be helpful. I could also see ACF/SCF integration being really helpful as well.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the kind words about the plugin, and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback!

A few of these customizations are actually possible today without waiting for new features:

Changing button text (like the “Preview” button):
The string customization approach below works well for this:

    1. Install the free Say What? plugin.
    2. Go to Tools > Text Changes > Add New.
    3. Set Original String to the text you want to change (e.g. Preview).
    4. Set Text Domain to wp-job-manager.
    5. Leave Text Context empty.
    6. Set your Replacement String (e.g. Preview and Submit Job).
    7. Save and hard-refresh the page.

This works for most button labels and strings throughout the plugin.

For the other requests (Elementor support, link colors, new tab links, ACF/SCF integration), these are not currently built into the plugin as settings. These are great ideas though, and the best way to make sure they reach the product team is to share them via our Github repo (https://github.com/Automattic/WP-Job-Manager/issues).

Custom styling like link colors can often be handled with a small CSS snippet in your theme’s customizer in the meantime, if that helps as a workaround.

Thanks again for the thoughtful suggestions, Matt!
