It seems like no one really visits the "Ideas" much but voting could make a difference. They are often little things overlooked by plugin authors but that could make working with WordPress more efficient for developers and for casual users...
I am proposing a core, root level file with the current version of WordPress listed in it that could be updated by any in-WP upgrade AND by any 3rd-party installer/upgrader. This would not be what WordPress reads to list the version AND would have NO other function, so would be no security risk.
Set a primary language in our profiles so that when we search the documentation, it gives preference to results IN THAT LANGUAGE.
