We apologize for the late reply. This particular question would need input from Martin. The playlist_start feature isn’t used too often. Maybe the incorrect splash screen could be even a fix, so that it happens automatically with playlist_start, instead of another parameter. However, Martin is currently on vacation till the end of this week. Is this issue urgent?

i agree. i think this should be anyway a fix, but the option of customizing a playlist splash is also interesting.
I can wait till the end of this week.
Please inform when this issue is corrected.

Short reply: The splash screens in regular FV Player actually already respect the playlist_start argument of the shortcode. This issue is connected to the legacy version of FV Player.

Still waiting for a solution for legacy shortcode
Please pay attention that even if we are talking about the legacy method, this is the the best method to build playlist shortcodes from dynamic metafield database by php functions.
this means that i have a CPT video post with metafields holding the title and episode number.
By using the legacy method, i am able to create playlist based in my database .
