After update player wont show in page that doesn’t have “page break”

so If the player / video is in post as first thing and nothing more than only tag is shown eg: [jwplayer config=”player” mediaid=’139′]

However when I have page break in post, and some text and if I use “read more” button and see whole post it shows ok…

one version back it worked fine.

Any idea why this happening ?

Can you provide a link to where you’re seeing this behavior?

Also, is this in a category view?

Sorry can’t give you the link as it is protected area..
I have tried it on another blog and there it worked just fine :-/ its a mystery… something had to change in plugin as last version worked just fine …

I use rtmpe protocol for streaming and yes it don’t show in category view ( I have ticked the “Show players on category and search pages” but no change )

What type of setup is the site isn’t working running on? (Server, OS, etc?). Can you also check to see if jwplayer.js is getting loaded? What URL is it trying to load it from?

It is running ubuntu, and latest wordpress, It gets loaded just fine, only issue I see that it looks like the tag is not translated to application in wordpress properly when displayed in category view.. when post it loaded in priew or just on it own via “read more” it works fine.

Do you have “Show players on category and search pages” checked in the JW Player admin section?

Well downgraded and all is fine, it must be something with template as it do only there but not on other two…. all in all great plugin and great work !

    Dear LongTail Team,

I have to report the same issues after upgrading.

Videos don’t show up on the category page although “Show players on category and search pages” is checked.
In a post everything works fine.

Here is the code I manually generate:

    echo jwplayer_tag_callback("[jwplayer config=\"Category Player\" mediaid=\"$mediaID\" file=\"$videoURL\" autostart=\"false\" image=\"$thumb[0]\"]");

    And here is the Output:

    [jwplayer config="Category Player" mediaid="966" file="" starttime="60" autostart="false" image=""]

Any ideas to fix this bug are very welcome.

    Oh, by the way:
Everything was working fine (also the player on the category site) with release 1.3.3.

    Greetings from Cologne

    Hi Bjoern,

Try echoing jwplayer_tag_excerpt_callback instead. This change was made to better support category embedding across all sites.

I apologize for the fact that it affected your implementation.
