I am using this ‘groups’ plugin principally because it plays nice with woocommerce and buddypress – and its a nice simple well wrtitten app. i am building a community-content based site.
However, for the actual task of implementing access control and associated admin, etc – the trusty RoleScoper plugin – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/role-scoper/ – is the only one that really does the job effectively. (albeit a little clunky and complex to use).
My problem is ‘groups’ plugin (plus ‘groups for woocommerce’ integration plugin) has wholy different/independent implementation of the ‘groups’ and ‘roles’ entities.
In fact, most plugins in this area all seem to implement their own ‘native’ data entities here, and none cover all requirements completely – making it an very difficult to converge on a consistent working solution. (i blame wp core team for not making adequatte provision of access control/security features with core – but that is another story)
Anyone any experience of trying to integrate them?
Thanks for any guidance.
